Latest update From Farrington Gurney Parish Council

So much has changed for us all over the past few months yet there has been incredible support and wonderful acts of kindness displayed by many within the village community. I would like to say thank you on behalf of the Parish Council to all those residents and businesses who have pulled together to support each other through this difficult time.

Recent Parish Council Meetings have been cancelled due to coronavirus, but please rest assured that measures have been put in place to keep essential Parish Council functions running. Legally, a Parish Council must hold four meetings a year but we can now hold an electronic meeting to tackle most urgent business if required. The Parish Council are working within government policy and advice.

The next Parish Council Meeting will take place at 8.00pm on Monday 20th July 2020 – please check back for details of how to access the meeting (whether this takes place electronically or whether we can hold a meeting in public). If we hold an electronic meeting, there will still be a public participation session and any future agenda will detail where and how to join on the meeting agenda – this will be published on Tuesday 14th July 2020.

Support for vulnerable people:

Bath & North East Somerset Council, working with 3SG, Virgin Care, and local NHS colleagues, have set up a telephone line giving advice and support to those that need it during this period. You can call 0300 247 0050, the line is open 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week. People with concerns over food supply, welfare or wellbeing can seek support and advice here. BANES Council have asked those residents who are able to safely get support from family and friends or to order their food or medication online, to continue to do so. This means staff operating the phone line can prioritise those who need the most help and get to calls as quickly as possible.

BANES Council now have a dedicated website detailing the latest information and advice on Coronavirus. This is a really useful resource for residents and businesses. You can access this here:

Stay safe and stay well.
